Kawasaki wheel loaders earn their reputation on some of the toughest job sites in mining, aggregate production, and material handling. When those machines run near blasting zones, molten material, or heavy debris, the operator cab becomes the last line of defense. We manufacture CGIM blast resistant window systems built to protect operators from high-energy impacts and blast pressure without sacrificing visibility or durability.

Each system is custom made to match the cab geometry of your Kawasaki loader, so you get a kit that results in accurate fitment, dependable weatherproof sealing, and long-lasting performance in demanding conditions.

Purpose-Built Kawasaki Blast Resistant Glass

Standard cab glazing is not designed to handle the forces present in blasting and high-impact environments. CGIM blast resistant glass is engineered to do the opposite of ordinary glass under stress. Instead of breaking into hazardous fragments, the glazing system is built to keep the glass intact and retained in the cab opening, protecting the operator from blast, debris and flying shards.

Our most protective blast resistant window systems employ a glass, polycarbonate, PVB, and polyurethane laminated glass composite to provide extreme protection, verified by 5000 kg (5.5 ton) TNT explosion testing. Advanced laminated glass composites employing polycarbonate are especially well suited to heavy equipment cabs because the material adds exceptional toughness at a fraction of the weight of comparable all-glass systems, which helps minimize added cab mass and increase ease of handling during installation and maintenance.

Beyond blast and impact protection, our window systems are built to perform in harsh outdoor conditions. The materials and sealing are heat resistant to withstand radiant heat and high-temperature environments such as slag and molten material handling, and the assemblies are weatherproof to resist moisture, temperature swings, and UV exposure during continuous outdoor operation.

Engineered to Recognized Blast Performance Standards

Blast resistant glazing performance is commonly evaluated using established test methods such as ASTM F1642 and GSA-TS01, which measure how glazing responds to airblast loading and whether it remains intact and anchored under dynamic overpressure. We design our blast resistant window systems with these performance objectives in mind, matching the construction to the threat level and operating environment of your specific site.

If you operate a Kawasaki loader that is not listed here, contact us. Because every system is custom built, we can manufacture window systems for additional Kawasaki equipment.

Custom Manufacturing and Cab Glass Replacement

A damaged or destroyed cab window means downtime, and downtime is expensive. Because each CGIM blast resistant window system retains a specific CGIM Model Number, you can purchase drop-in replacement units designed to drop in cleanly and seal correctly every time. Our systems can be designed for various window locations across front, side, and door openings.

From single replacement windows to full fleet programs, every unit is made to order and built to meet your requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Cincinnati Gasket blast resistant window system?
+
Our blast resistant window systems are custom glazing assemblies designed to protect operators from blast pressure, flying debris, and high-energy impacts. Rather than shattering into dangerous fragments, the glazing is engineered to stay intact and remain anchored in the cab opening, reducing the risk of operator injury during an event.
What materials go into Cincinnati Gasket blast resistant glass?
+
CGIM blast resistant glass typically incorporates a strong and highly impact resistant laminated glass, protected from heat, scratches, dings and abuse by an outer pane of more economical InfraRed Reflective coated “expendable” tempered glass. Which laminated glass is selected for your system depends on the requirements of your application. CGIM works with you to select the right construction based on your protection needs and operating conditions.
Which Kawasaki models do you build window systems for?
+
CGIM manufactures blast resistant window systems for the Kawasaki ZV and ZV2 series, including the 115ZV2, 95ZV2, 90ZV2, 115ZV, 95ZV, and 90ZV loaders. These are also commonly referred to by the KAW designation. If your model is not listed, reach out, because our custom manufacturing process allows us to design systems for additional Kawasaki machines.
Can you supply replacement cab glass for a Kawasaki loader?
+
Yes. We manufacture Cincinnati Gasket cab glass replacement windows to match your Kawasaki machine’s exact cab geometry and mounting configuration, with spares available to fit and seal quickly and correctly with minimal downtime. This helps get your loader back into service quickly.
How is blast resistant glazing performance evaluated?
+
Blast resistant glazing is generally assessed using recognized test methods such as ASTM F1642 and GSA-TS01, which measure how glazing responds to airblast loading and whether it stays intact and retained under dynamic overpressure. We engineer our blast resistant window systems to meet the requirements of your specific application.
Are your Cincinnati Gasket blast resistant windows custom made?
+
Yes. Every blast resistant window system CGIM produces is made to order and manufactured to match your specific Kawasaki model’s dimensions, and your required protection level. Each design is signed off and approved prior to fabrication to ensure accurate fitment and dependable performance in the field.
