When your sealing application calls for mechanical strength, dimensional stability, and resistance to wear, nylon gaskets from CGIM LLC give you a strong solution at a competitive price. We manufacture custom nylon gaskets for industrial OEMs, gasket distributors, and fabricators across the United States, working from your prints, CAD files, or sample parts to produce finished parts that meet your specifications.
With production capabilities that scale from a single prototype to high-volume runs, we support both maintenance-driven replacement orders and ongoing OEM supply programs.
Why Choose Nylon for Your Gasket Application?
Nylon (polyamide) is one of the most versatile engineering thermoplastics used in industrial sealing. A nylon gasket performs well in environments where rubber or softer plastics cannot hold their shape under load. Key performance characteristics include:
- High Mechanical Strength: Nylon resists deformation under compression, making it suitable for dynamic sealing and bolted joints that experience repeated cycling.
- Excellent Wear and Abrasion Resistance: Nylon holds up against friction in moving assemblies and high-contact surfaces.
- Chemical Compatibility: Nylon resists oils, fuels, hydraulic fluids, and many solvents commonly found in industrial process lines.
- Wide Service Temperature Range: Standard nylon grades operate reliably from roughly -40°F up to 250°F, with specialty grades extending that range.
- Low Coefficient of Friction: Nylon performs well in applications where the gasket may shift slightly during assembly or operation.
- Electrical Insulation: Nylon is nonconductive, making it a practical choice for electrical enclosures and panel sealing.
For applications that require a softer, more conformable seal, you may want to compare nylon against our PTFE plastic gaskets or neoprene rubber gaskets.
Common Applications for Nylon Gaskets
OEMs and fabricators specify nylon gasket sheet and finished parts for:
- Pumps, compressors, and fluid-handling equipment
- Hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies
- Electrical housings, panels, and junction boxes
- Automotive and heavy equipment components
- Food processing machinery (with appropriate FDA-compliant grades)
- Industrial machinery with bolted flanges or covers
- Bushings, washers, and spacer applications where a gasket also serves as a wear surface
Custom Nylon Gasket Manufacturing Capabilities
CGIM LLC operates a 65,000+ square foot facility with the equipment to handle prototype quantities through full production runs. Our nylon gasket cutting capabilities include:
- Precision die cutting for high-volume orders with tight repeatability
- Waterjet cutting for complex profiles, larger parts, and short runs without tooling costs
- Flash cutting for fast turnaround on low-to-medium volumes
- In-house die making to keep tooling lead times short and costs controlled
- CNC machining for tighter tolerances or three-dimensional features
Whether you need a single prototype nylon gasket or a production order of thousands, we work to your drawings and specifications. We stock nylon gasket sheet in a range of thicknesses and can source specialty grades on request.
Why Industrial Buyers Work With CGIM LLC
OEMs, distributors, and fabricators choose CGIM LLC because we combine the manufacturing capacity of a larger shop with the responsiveness of a direct supplier. Every order is quoted and produced in-house, so you get accurate pricing, predictable lead times, and a real person to call when things change.
- Decades of gasket manufacturing experience serving industrial customers nationwide
- Competitive pricing on standard and custom nylon gasket runs
- Typical lead times of 7 to 14 days, including custom orders
- Direct communication with manufacturing, not a reseller in the middle
- Volume pricing for distributors and repeat OEM accounts
Frequently Asked Questions About Custom Nylon Gaskets
What grades of nylon do you use for gaskets?
We work most often with Nylon 6 and Nylon 6/6, which cover the majority of industrial sealing applications. We can also source filled grades such as glass-filled or molybdenum disulfide-filled nylon when your application requires added stiffness, wear resistance, or dimensional stability under load. If you have a specific grade callout on your drawing, send it along with your RFQ.
What thicknesses of nylon gasket sheet do you stock?
Standard stock thicknesses generally run from 1/32″ through 1″, depending on the grade. If your application calls for a thickness outside that range, let us know, and we will source it.
Do nylon gaskets absorb moisture?
Nylon is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs a small amount of moisture from the atmosphere. This can cause minor dimensional changes over time. For applications where this matters, we can recommend a stabilized grade or a different material. Bring it up during the quote, and we will advise.
